Why 100% Linen Drapes Feel Different

Let’s be real: you can spot fake linen from a mile away. It has that weird, plastic shine and hangs stiffly. The Tahiti collection is the antidote to that. We're talking pure, natural flax that has that signature "nubby" texture (slubs) and gorgeous weight you only get with the real deal.

Because they are natural, they actually breathe. Customers tell us the room literally feels airier—cool in the summer, cozy in the winter. It’s the easiest way to make your space look like it was styled by a pro without actually hiring one.

That "Golden Hour" Glow All Day

You know that harsh, blinding glare you get with cheap sheers? These don't do that. The weave is tight enough to offer real privacy (no fishbowl effect) but loose enough to filter sunlight into a soft, warm wash of light.

Ideally, you want your room to feel bright but protected. These hit that sweet spot perfectly. If you need total darkness for deep sleep, just grab the blackout lining option—you get the sleep you need without sacrificing the linen aesthetic on the outside.

Made to Measure Linen Curtains That Fit Perfectly

Nothing kills a room's vibe faster than curtains that are 3 inches too short (the dreaded "high waters"). Standard store-bought sizes rarely fit right. That's why we cut these to your exact specs.

Want that dramatic, romantic look where the fabric pools on the floor? Or a clean, modern kiss-the-floor length? You call the shots. Custom sizing means your windows look finished, intentional, and expensive.

The "Living Fabric" That Ages Gracefully

Here is the coolest thing about real linen: it’s not stagnant. It’s a durable, natural fiber that actually gets softer and more supple the longer you have it. It resists static (so less dust clinging to your drapes) and handles real life beautifully.

Whether you dry clean them for a crisp hotel look or wash them for that relaxed, lived-in vibe, these are an investment that won't fall apart in a year. They're built to last.

FAQ

Is this actually 100% linen or just a 'linen look' blend?

This is the real deal—100% natural flax. A lot of brands sneak in polyester to cut costs, but you can feel the difference instantly. These 100% linen drapes have that signature 'slub' texture and breathable weight that synthetic fabrics just can't fake. Because they are pure natural fiber, they're hypoallergenic and anti-static, too. Basically, if you're looking for that authentic, organic aesthetic that gets softer with age, you've found it.

Will my neighbors be able to see inside at night?

Good question. If you go with the standard unlined option, these are light-filtering. That means total privacy during the day (you can see out, they can't see in), but at night with your lights on, you might see silhouettes from the street. If you live on a busy street or just want total privacy, I highly recommend adding the Privacy Liner or Blackout Liner in the customization menu. You get the same gorgeous linen look on the inside, but with the coverage you need.

I'm terrible at measuring—what if I mess it up?

Don't panic! Since these are made to measure linen curtains, we do need specific numbers, but it's not rocket science. The most important rule? Measure your curtain rod, not the window frame. For the width, we usually suggest 1.5x to 2x the rod width so you get that lovely fullness when they're closed. For length, measure from the top of the rod to where you want them to land (floor, puddle, or sill). If you're stuck, shoot us a message—we'd rather help you measure twice so you only have to buy once!

Can I throw these in the washing machine?

You can, but there's a catch. Pure linen is a natural fiber, which means it loves to shrink if you look at it wrong. We officially recommend dry cleaning to keep the size exactly perfect. However, if you're going for that relaxed, crinkly farmhouse look, you can machine wash on cold/gentle and line dry. Just be aware they might shrink up to 5%, so if you plan to wash them yourself, you might want to order them a few inches longer to account for that 'natural hang.'

Are these actually blackout curtains?

They can be! By default, the Tahiti collection is medium-weight and lets light filter through for a soft, dreamy glow. But if you need these for a nursery or you're a light sleeper, simply select the 'Blackout Lining' option when customizing. We sew a high-quality liner to the back that blocks light and helps insulate the room, turning these into effective blackout linen curtains without ruining the beautiful flax texture on the front.

Do I need to iron them when they arrive?

That depends on your vibe. Linen naturally wrinkles—it's part of the charm! When you unpack them, they will have some fold lines from shipping. Most people just hang them up and let gravity do the work over a week or two. If you want them crisp immediately, a handheld steamer is your best friend. Just give them a quick steam once they're on the rod. It's way easier than trying to wrestle a giant curtain on an ironing board.
