FAQ

Why These Motorized Bamboo Shades Are a Total Game Changer

Let's be honest: traditional blinds are a pain. The cords get tangled, they look messy, and lifting heavy shades manually is just annoying. That’s why these motorized bamboo shades are such a massive upgrade. You get that gorgeous, organic designer look, but with a silent motor doing all the heavy lifting for you.

Imagine waking up and opening every shade in your room without leaving your warm bed. That’s the level of luxury we’re talking about, but without the custom drapery price tag.

Control Sunlight Without Leaving the Couch

Whether you're deep in a movie marathon or just feeling lazy (we've all been there), you shouldn't have to get up to fix the glare on the TV. These integrate seamlessly with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit. A simple voice command or a tap on your phone, and your lighting is perfect.

Plus, the motor is rechargeable and hides right in the headrail. One charge lasts about 4–6 months, so you aren't constantly plugging things in.

Real Bamboo Texture (Not Plastic Junk)

You’ve probably seen those cheap "wood-look" blinds that are obviously plastic. These aren't those. The Hana collection uses high-quality, kiln-dried bamboo ribbons that have genuine texture and warmth. Because it's natural material, every single shade has unique grain patterns.

It brings a warmth to a room that white plastic blinds just can't match. It's that "coastal retreat" vibe that works in pretty much any modern home.

Privacy Levels: From 'Sun-Soaked' to 'Blackout Cave'

One of the biggest worries with woven wood is transparency. We solved that with custom liners. If you want a soft, filtered light in the kitchen, go unlined. But for the bedroom? You definitely want to upgrade to the blackout liner.

It gives you that rich bamboo look on the inside, but complete privacy from the neighbors on the outside. Best of both worlds.

No Electrician Required (Seriously)

The words "motorized window treatments" usually mean "expensive wiring project." Not here. Since these run on a battery motor, you install them just like regular blinds. Snap the brackets in, secure the headrail, and you're done.

This also means there are absolutely zero dangling cords—making these electric bamboo blinds the safest option for homes with curious toddlers or pets.

A Few Things to Know Before Ordering

Color Variation

Natural fibers may vary slightly in color due to differences in origin, harvest time, climate, and storage. Even within the same batch, slight color gradients may appear due to exposure to light and oxidation. We do our best to ensure color consistency for products ordered within the same space, so please clearly indicate room names when placing your order.

Natural & Handwoven Characteristics

Our woven grass curtains are handcrafted using natural plant fibers. Minor color variations, irregular textures, subtle weaving marks, or a natural plant scent are considered normal characteristics of the material and do not affect performance. These are not considered quality issues and are not eligible for return or exchange.

Size Tolerance

Due to the nature of handwoven materials, slight size deviations (±1–2 cm), loose threads, or fringe edges may occur. These are within industry-accepted tolerances and do not affect usage.

Environmental Suitability

As a natural fiber product, woven grass curtains should not be used in environments with high humidity, high heat, or excessive tension. Damage caused by improper use is not covered under after-sales support.

Natural Color Aging

Over time (typically after 6 months), natural fabrics may undergo subtle color changes due to light exposure, oxidation, and everyday environmental factors. This is a normal aging process and not considered a defect.

Natural Length Extension

Due to gravity, natural fabrics may slightly stretch after hanging, typically by 1–2 cm. This is a common physical response and does not indicate a quality issue.

Fits shades between 30–120 cm wide (11.8–47.2 in) and 60–250 cm high (23.6–98.4 in),

and can support up to 5 kg (11 lbs).

PLEASE NOTE:This kit is not recommended for shades exceeding the size or weight limits stated above. Use beyond these limits may affect safety and void after-sales support.

Woven Shades Instruction Mannual

Inside Mount

Drill-Mounting Installation (Inside Mount)

Accessories Included:
• L-shaped mounting brackets x2
• Expansion anchor x8
• 24mm screws x8
• Cord cleat x1 (Only included for corded shades)
• 11mm screws x2 (Only included for corded shades)

Make sure the bracket is installed with 1" (approx 2.5cm) clearance from the edge of the window frame to prevent the headrail from sticking out after installation.

Ensure symmetrical spacing between brackets. After confirming the location, mark the holes for drilling. Use an electric drill or screw drive to secure the brackets in place. If your wall is concrete textured please use the expansion screws for secure installation.

For inside mount, mounting brackets can be secured on top or on the side, depending on your space.

Once both brackets are installed, hold the headrail up and insert the bolt into the slit. Then rotate the nut until it is securely placed.

For corded shades, fix the cord cleat to the side of the window to coil shade cords, preventing accidental strangulation hazards for children and pets.

Outside Mount

Drill-Mounting Installation (Outside Mount)

Accessories Included:
• L-shaped mounting brackets x2
• Expansion anchor x8
• 24mm screws x8
• Cord cleat x1 (Only included for corded shades)
• 11mm screws x2 (Only included for corded shades)

1. For optimal coverage and a finished look, we recommend installing the headrail 8 inches above the window frame.
2. The width should be 8 inches wider than your window frame on each side for better coverage (16 in total)

Make sure the brackets are leveled and mark the drilling holes.

Use an electric drill or screw drive to secure the brackets in place. Please use expansion screws if drilling into concrete surfaces.

Once both brackets are installed, hold the headrail up and insert the bolt into the slit. Then rotate the nut until it is securely placed.

For corded shades, fix the cord cleat to the side of the window to coil shade cords, preventing accidental strangulation hazards for children and pets.

FAQ

How often do I need to charge the battery?

Not often at all! For average daily use, the battery lasts between 4 to 6 months. When it does need a boost, you just plug it in like a phone—no need to take the shade down.

Are these difficult to install myself?

Nope, it's surprisingly easy. Since there's no hardwiring required, you just mount the brackets and snap the shade in. Most customers get it done in about 15-20 minutes with a simple drill.

Do I need a smart home hub to use these?

You can operate them perfectly fine with the included remote control. However, if you want to use voice commands or the app (Alexa/Google/HomeKit), you'll sync them to your smart hub for that extra layer of magic.

Will people be able to see through these at night?

If you choose the 'Unlined' option, you get shadows and silhouettes at night when lights are on inside. For bedrooms or street-facing windows, we highly recommend adding the Privacy or Blackout liner to ensure total seclusion.

Are these safe for nurseries or kids' rooms?

Yes, they are the safest option available. Because they are motorized and cordless, there are no dangling strings that pose a strangulation hazard to children or pets.

Shades Measurement
Inside mount
  • Step 1: We recommend measuring width in three places - top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest of these measurements. Deduct 2/5 inches from your width measurement to ensure the best fit.
  • Step 2: Measure the height of window in three places - left, center, and right. Use the largest of these measurements.
Inside mount requires a minimum depth of 2.5 inches of the window frame.
For inside mounts under 45 inches wide, both no-drill and drill-in hardware are included.
Outside mount
  • Step 1: Measure the width of the area you wish to cover. For better coverage and appearance, we recommend adding approximately 8 inches (20 cm) on each side—left and right.
  • Step 2: Measure the height of the area, and similarly add 8 inches (20 cm) to the top and bottom for optimal fit and visual balance.
No minimum depth requirement
No-drill installation not available for outside mount
