Will this completely block out all noise?

Let's be honest—it's a heavy fabric curtain, not a soundproof booth. It won't silence a drum set, but it significantly muffles ambient noise like conversation, TV sounds, and traffic. It takes the 'sharpness' out of the noise so you can relax.

Is it machine washable?

For small spots, just wipe it with a damp cloth (the Oxford fabric is water-resistant). For a deep clean, you can machine wash it on a gentle cycle. Just make sure to remove any hooks first!

Does it work for keeping heat OUT in summer?

Absolutely. The insulation works both ways. Just like a thermos keeps coffee hot or water cold, this air barrier stops hot air from entering your cool AC-filled room. It's a year-round energy saver.

Is the price for one panel or a pair (two panels)?

The price shown is for one door curtain panel. For a typical window with a balanced look, you may want to order two panels (quantity 2).

The Panel Width/Length you enter on the product page is the finished size per panel.

My required width/length isn’t listed (extra wide/long). Can you customize?

Yes. Most made-to-measure door curtain listings support per-panel width/length starting at 20" and going up to 200". If you can’t select your size, email support@thehues.com and we’ll help you plan the right split/join solution.

Do you have decibel reduction data or an STC rating/certification?
  • For our sound-reducing curtains, noise reduction can reach up to about 15 dB under ideal conditions.
  • Real-world results vary based on installation (especially top/side gaps), room construction, and the noise frequency.

Is it 100% blackout? How effective is the thermal insulation?

Yes, this curtain is 100% blackout. Thanks to its heavy-duty multi-layer construction (including a thick cotton insulation core), it completely blocks light from passing through the fabric.  

For thermal insulation, it is effective. The thick internal insulation acts as a barrier against temperatures—keeping freezing cold out in winter and blistering heat out in summer—helping you save on energy bills year-round.

Will the door curtain seal the doorway to keep mosquitoes out?

The website does not guarantee a fully sealed, mosquito-proof doorway. If your goal is to minimize gaps, choose appropriate width/length and a closer-fitting header (such as rod pocket / back tab) and contact support@thehues.com with your doorway setup.
