Why These Custom Patterned Curtains Feel Different

The distinction of a fine patterned drape lies in its construction. While many designs are printed onto a fabric's surface, the Liwa collection's "dotted rhythm" pattern is woven directly into the textile—a technique known as jacquard. This process creates tangible texture and beautiful depth that catches the sunlight, lending the fabric a rich, dimensional quality and a truly refined appearance.

Designers tell us this is the easiest way to add character to a neutral room without making it look chaotic. It's subtle, earthy, and totally sophisticated.

Full-length Liwa Linen Blend custom pleated curtains with subtle desert-toned dotted jacquard pattern in a bright bedroom.

The Linen Look Without the Maintenance

We all love the breezy, organic vibe of pure linen, but nobody has time to steam their curtains every week. That's why this blend is genius. It combines the airy aesthetic of linen with durable fibers that resist those stubborn, deep wrinkles and is safe for machine washing.

The result? You get that soft, heavy drape that pools perfectly on the floor, but they hold their shape much better than 100% linen. It’s the kind of "lived-in luxury" that looks intentional, not messy.

Custom Blackout Curtains or Light Filtering? You Choose.

One size definitely does not fit all when it comes to sleep. You can customize these exactly how you need them. Go unlined for a living room where you want that soft, glowing natural light to filter through.

But for the bedroom? To achieve a full 100% blackout effect, simply add our 100% blackout lining during the customization process. It blocks streetlights and early morning sun so you can actually sleep in. Plus, the added weight makes the curtains hang even more elegantly.

Made to Order Curtains (Because Windows Aren't Standard)

The proper length of your drapery is a defining detail in a well-appointed room. Curtains that stop short of the floor can disrupt the room's sense of height and proportion. This is why we move beyond standard sizes, crafting each panel to your precise measurements for a truly custom fit.

We craft these to your exact specifications. Whether you have massive floor-to-ceiling windows or a tricky architectural nook, you get a tailored, professional fit. No pooling fabric unless you want it, and no awkward gaps.

FAQ

Can I get these as custom blackout curtains?

Absolutely. You have total control over the lining. If you want that breezy, light-filtering vibe for a living room, go Unlined or Privacy. To achieve a true 100% blackout effect for a bedroom or media room, simply select the 100% Blackout Lining option during the customization process. This lining blocks all incoming light and provides excellent thermal insulation, keeping your room cooler in the summer.

Is the 'dotted rhythm' pattern printed on?

Nope, and that's the best part. This is a Jacquard weave, meaning the pattern is actually woven into the fabric, not just stamped on top. This gives it a rich, multi-dimensional texture you can actually feel. It elevates the whole look from "nice" to "designer quality" because the texture catches the light differently throughout the day.

Is the linen blend hard to take care of?

We designed this blend specifically to solve the 'linen wrinkle' problem. By combining the airy look of linen with durable fibers, you get that organic aesthetic without the deep, stubborn creases associated with pure linen. For cleaning, these curtains are safe for machine washing at 30°C or below on a gentle cycle. However, to maintain the fabric's quality, please do not bleach and do not tumble dry. You may iron at a low temperature if needed to keep the intricate Jacquard weave looking crisp.

Which header style should I choose?

It depends on your vibe! If you want a polished, high-end hotel look, go with Pinch Pleats. If you prefer something modern and super easy to slide open and closed, Grommets are your best friend. Rod Pockets offer a classic, gathered look that works great if you don't plan on opening and closing the curtains constantly.

Is the 'Dune' color a true neutral?

Yes, think "warm desert sand" rather than a flat, boring beige. Our Dune curtains are designed to be an earthy neutral foundation. They pair incredibly well with natural wood furniture, stone accents, or crisp white walls. It adds warmth to a room without clashing with your existing decor.

How long does shipping take for made-to-order items?

Since these are made to order curtains tailored specifically to your windows, they take a little longer than a big-box store purchase—but they are worth the wait. We use an on-demand sewing process which reduces waste and ensures quality. Once tailored, they ship directly to you. Check the current estimated delivery date at checkout for the most accurate timeline!

Is the price for one panel or a pair (two panels)?

The price shown is for one curtain panel. For a typical window with a balanced look, you may want to order two panels (quantity 2).

When entering Panel Width, should I input total coverage width or one panel width?

On the product page, the Panel Width you select/enter is the finished size per panel.

  • Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
  • Use the Size Guide on the product page to calculate step-by-step.
  • If you’d like help, email support@thehues.com with your product link and measurements.
My rod/window width is X—how many panels do I need and what width should each panel be?

The Panel Width/Length you enter on the product page is the finished size per panel.

  • Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
  • Example: 100" rod width × 1.5 fullness ÷ 2 panels = 75" per panel.
  • Click the Size Guide on the product page for a step-by-step calculator, or contact support for help.
Curtains need fullness—how much extra width should I add?

Different Header Styles correspond to different recommended fullness ratios.

  • Select your header first to see the recommended fullness in the Size Guide/selection area.
  • Our system will use this to calculate or suggest the best size for you.
  • Or, feel free to consult customer service for help.
Should I add extra length for puddling? What if I don’t have room for it?

Yes. You can choose Hover (about 1" above the floor for a clean look) or Puddle (about 3" onto the floor for a more dramatic look). In the product Size Guide, select the finish you want and it will automatically adjust from your floor measurement.

My required width/length isn’t listed (extra wide/long). Can you customize?

Yes. Most made-to-measure curtain listings support per-panel width/length starting at 20" and going up to 200". If you can’t select your size, email support@thehues.com and we’ll help you plan the right split/join solution.

What is a Header Style, and which one should I choose?

A header style is the top construction of the curtain—how it’s made and how it attaches to your rod or track.

  • Rod vs. track: match the header to your hardware.
  • Look: flat vs. pleated vs. wave, etc.
  • Use: frequent opening/closing often benefits from smoother track-friendly headers.

If you’re unsure, start with the Header Style Guide and match it to your setup.

Do the curtains include S hooks/pinch pleat hooks, or do I need to purchase them separately?

It depends on the header you choose:

  • Grommet / Back Tab / Rod Pocket: no hooks needed—slides directly onto a rod.
  • Pleated / Pleat Hook styles: we include the appropriate hooks based on your selection.
  • Roman Rings / Clip Rings: rings/clips are typically purchased separately to match your rod diameter.

To confirm hardware for a specific SKU, email support@thehues.com with the product link or your order number.

Will my rod diameter fit your grommets/loops?

Rod Pocket works best with rods ≤ 1.25" diameter. For Grommet, the internal diameter is about 1.56" and it pairs best with a 1.5" rod. Always confirm against the header option you select.

Is it 100% blackout? How effective is the thermal insulation?

Full blackout depends on the product and the lining you choose:

  • 100% Blackout products can achieve full blackout when installed properly with minimal gaps.
  • For most other curtains (excluding sheer/light-filtering styles), selecting a 100% Blackout Liner can dramatically increase light blocking.
  • Thermal insulation also depends on fabric thickness and lining—thermal/blackout fabrics or added liners typically provide better insulation.
Can you make pinch pleats (e.g., double/triple pleats)?

Yes. The guides list multiple pleated options such as Double/Triple French Pinch Pleat, Euro Pleat, Goblet, and Inverted Box Pleat. Availability depends on the header styles offered on your product page. See Measurement Guide and Header Styles.

Can you make blackout/soundproof curtains with the same color on both sides?

Yes:

  • For the same fabric and color on both sides (except the header area), choose Same Fabric Liner.
  • For a close-matching polyester lining, choose Comparable Color Liner. An exact match across different fabrics may not always be possible—contact support to confirm before ordering.
Can I order swatches? How do I order them?

Yes. Order directly from Curtain Swatches: select your fabrics/colors and add them to cart.

Limits and shipping/fees follow the latest information shown on the swatch page.

I can’t find the swatch option for a specific color/product—what should I do?

Please email support@thehues.com with the product link and color name, and we’ll help confirm the matching swatch (or the closest available option).

Are tiebacks included or sold separately?

It varies by product—please follow the options shown on this curtain’s product page. This curtain listing lets you select tiebacks (for example Free Tiebacks / Matching Tiebacks), which will show in your order/price. If you want tiebacks separately, you can purchase them from Accessories.
