How much noise does this actually block?

It significantly muffles everyday airborne noise. While no fabric can soundproof a room 100% (that requires construction), this heavy-duty curtain dulls sharpness of sounds like voices, TV noise, and hallway traffic so they become background white noise rather than distractions.

Will this damage my door frame?

Nope! It installs using a high-quality adhesive hook-and-loop strip (like heavy-duty Velcro). It stays put when you need it to, but can be removed. If you're renting, you can use a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive for clean removal when you move out.

Is it machine washable?

Yes, it is safe for machine washing.

Does it work for keeping heat out in summer?

100%. The thermal insulation works both ways. Just like it keeps heat in during winter, it blocks hot air from entering your cool room in the summer, helping your A/C work less hard.

Do you have decibel reduction data or an STC rating/certification?

For our sound-reducing curtains, noise reduction can reach up to about 15 dB under ideal conditions.
Real-world results vary based on installation (especially top/side gaps), room construction, and the noise frequency.

Is it 100% blackout? How effective is the thermal insulation?

Full blackout depends on the product and the lining you choose:

100% Blackout products can achieve full blackout when installed properly with minimal gaps.
For most other curtains (excluding sheer/light-filtering styles), selecting a 100% Blackout Liner can dramatically increase light blocking.
Thermal insulation also depends on fabric thickness and lining—thermal/blackout fabrics or added liners typically provide better insulation.

Will the door curtain seal the doorway to keep mosquitoes out?

The website does not guarantee a fully sealed, mosquito-proof doorway. If your goal is to minimize gaps, choose appropriate width/length and a closer-fitting header (such as rod pocket / back tab) and contact support@thehues.com with your doorway setup.
