FAQ

Are these sold as a pair or single panels?

We sell these as single panels to give you total flexibility. For most standard windows, you'll want to grab two panels to get that full, gathered look. But selling them individually means if you have an odd-shaped narrow window or just need one, you aren't forced to buy a set you don't need.

Will my neighbors be able to see through these?

This is the big question with cafe curtains! These strike the perfect "Goldilocks" balance. Because of the linen blend texture and stripes, they blur the view from the outside, giving you privacy from passersby. However, they are semi-sheer, meaning they still let that gorgeous natural light pour into your kitchen so it doesn't feel like a cave. You get the glow without the fishbowl effect.

Kitchens get greasy—can I machine wash these?

Yes! We know these are likely living near stoves and sinks. You can wash them on a gentle, cold cycle. We recommend air drying or tumbling on low to keep the fibers happy. The linen blend is durable enough for real life, so don't be afraid to actually use them in a busy home.

Do I need special hardware to hang these?

Nope! These are designed with versatility in mind. You can slide a standard curtain rod directly through the rod pocket for a classic, ruched country look. Or, if you prefer a more modern vibe (and easier sliding), you can use clip rings attached to your rod. Both look great, so it just depends on your personal style.

I'm worried the color won't match my cabinets. What should I do?

Lighting in kitchens can be tricky—what looks beige on a screen might look different next to your backsplash. We highly recommend ordering a fabric swatch first. It's the safest way to see exactly how the stripes and texture play with your specific paint colors and lighting before you commit to the full curtains.

Is the price for one panel or a pair (two panels)?

The price shown is for one cafe curtain panel. For a typical window with a balanced look, you may want to order two panels (quantity 2).

When entering Panel Width, should I input total coverage width or one panel width?

On the product page, the Panel Width you select/enter is the finished size per panel.

Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
Use the Size Guide on the product page to calculate step-by-step.
If you’d like help, email support@thehues.com with your product link and measurements.

My rod/window width is X—how many panels do I need and what width should each panel be?

The Panel Width/Length you enter on the product page is the finished size per panel.

Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
Example: 100" rod width × 1.5 fullness ÷ 2 panels = 75" per panel.
Click the Size Guide on the product page for a step-by-step calculator, or contact support for help.

Curtains need fullness—how much extra width should I add?

Different Header Styles correspond to different recommended fullness ratios.

Select your header first to see the recommended fullness in the Size Guide/selection area.
Our system will use this to calculate or suggest the best size for you.
Or, feel free to consult customer service for help.

My required width/length isn’t listed (extra wide/long). Can you customize?

Yes. Most made-to-measure cafe curtain listings support per-panel width/length starting at 20" and going up to 200". If you can’t select your size, email support@thehues.com and we’ll help you plan the right split/join solution.

Can I order swatches? How do I order them?

Yes. Order directly from Curtain Swatches: select your fabrics/colors and add them to cart.

Limits and shipping/fees follow the latest information shown on the swatch page.

Will swatch fees/shipping be credited or refunded with a full order?

Whether swatch shipping/fees can be credited toward a full order may vary by promotion.

Please email support@thehues.com to confirm the current rule before placing your full order.

I can’t find the swatch option for a specific color/product—what should I do?

Please email support@thehues.com with the product link and color name, and we’ll help confirm the matching swatch (or the closest available option).

Are tiebacks included or sold separately?

It varies by product—please follow the options shown on this cafe curtain’s product page. Many curtain listings let you select tiebacks (for example Free Tiebacks / Matching Tiebacks), which will show in your order/price. If you want tiebacks separately, you can purchase them from Accessories.
