Not only do they look great the black color is modern, clean, and complements my decor perfectly but they also help keep the cold air out, which has made a noticeable difference in comfort and energy use during chilly nights.
Im so impressed with the quality and performance that Im already planning to purchase additional sets for other rooms before winter arrives. Great buy all around functional, attractive, and well worth it!
Just what I was looking for. Great color, smooth, heavy, soft fabric that doesn't get stuck on the edge of your floorboard. Doesn't seem to collect my dogs hair either.
I do regression work and need absolute quiet when I do so. Because I offer sessions out of my house, these curtains have acted almost as a door between me, my work and the rest of the house. LOVE THEM!
The price matches the quality. I live in Las Vegas, NV and so I am not a newbie to blackout curtains. I also shop at top brand stores when I am looking for quality. This quality surpasses the top brands by leaps. They are super thick. You absolutely need a good rod because they are heavy. Also, my previous blackout curtains left the room warm despite the AC - these do not let even a little heat in.
Buying these for all the rooms next.
The curtains are beuond gorgeous! The Hue’s customer service was incredible ans went above and beyond! They helped me visualize the color in my room with actual photos, helped me buy the correct size, and ensured I the 20% off coupon code, and shipped the curtains really quickly. Fantastic experience all around and I love these curtains!
Absolutely phenomenal product. This curtain worked perfectly to isolate sound and lighting for our recording studio! The quality is great and the velvet exterior is beautiful.
The curtain panel was crafted so well and it really blocks out the sound coming from the lobby in my first floor apartment. It actually creates a more cozy feeling in the room and will block out the draft in the wintertime that blows through the space at the bottom of my door. So glad I purchased!!!
Every other curtain vendor sells them in sets. I was surprised when what was in the shipping packaging were single panels.
I had to order matching panels so I have not used them yet.
So far, they look and feel great and are substantial weighted.
I believe most people would not choose to buy black curtains, but I bought them after struggling for a while. I want to experience the retro style. Its quit special.

I have been looking for a red curtain, so I chose Classic / Red. The color is really bright, it has a good drape when hung, and it is lightproof. Very exquisite I think!
I never wanted the curtains in my house to be long enough to hang down to the ground. But when I was shopping on thehues website, I saw some curtains on the official website that looked nice hanging on the ground, so I customized one and its also nice to try different styles.

Yes, absolutely. Our unique 4-layer construction features specialized internal layers that work together to block 100% of light. Unlike standard 'room darkening' options, these ensure total darkness, making them perfect for nurseries, home theaters, or shift workers.
Will they actually help with noise?
Yes, they are designed to create a quieter space. We combine sound-absorbing sponge felt with a layer of melt-blown fabric. This advanced material not only acts as a micro-barrier against dust and drafts but also enhances the curtain's density. Together, these layers work to muffle outside distractions and reduce echoes within the room.
Are they machine washable?
Yes, they are machine washable.Important: You must detach the internal felt liner before washing. We recommend using a gentle cycle with cold water. While they are dryer-safe on low heat, hanging them to dry is recommended to best preserve the specialized 4-layer construction.
Do they come with the rod?
The rod isn't included in the base price, but you can choose to add it to your order. We have matching hardware available so you can get everything you need in one go, including your preferred header style.
Is the price for one panel or a pair (two panels)?
The price shown is for one curtain panel. For a typical window with a balanced look, you may want to order two panels (quantity 2).
When entering Panel Width, should I input total coverage width or one panel width?
On the product page, the Panel Width you select/enter is the finished size per panel.
Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
Use the Size Guide on the product page to calculate step-by-step.
If you’d like help, email support@thehues.com with your product link and measurements.
My rod/window width is X—how many panels do I need and what width should each panel be?
The Panel Width/Length you enter on the product page is the finished size per panel.
Per-panel width = (rod width × fullness) ÷ number of panels
Example: 100" rod width × 1.5 fullness ÷ 2 panels = 75" per panel.
Click the Size Guide on the product page for a step-by-step calculator, or contact support for help.
Curtains need fullness—how much extra width should I add?
Different Header Styles correspond to different recommended fullness ratios.
Select your header first to see the recommended fullness in the Size Guide/selection area.
Our system will use this to calculate or suggest the best size for you.
Or, feel free to consult customer service for help.
My required width/length isn’t listed (extra wide/long). Can you customize?
Yes. Most made-to-measure curtain listings support per-panel width/length starting at 20" and going up to 200". If you can’t select your size, email support@thehues.com and we’ll help you plan the right split/join solution.
What is a Header Style, and which one should I choose?
A header style is the top construction of the curtain—how it’s made and how it attaches to your rod or track.
Rod vs. track: match the header to your hardware.
Look: flat vs. pleated vs. wave, etc.
Use: frequent opening/closing often benefits from smoother track-friendly headers.
If you’re unsure, start with the Header Style Guide and match it to your setup.
Do the curtains include S hooks/pinch pleat hooks, or do I need to purchase them separately?
It depends on the header you choose:
Grommet / Back Tab / Rod Pocket: no hooks needed—slides directly onto a rod.
Pleated / Pleat Hook styles: we include the appropriate hooks based on your selection.
Roman Rings / Clip Rings: rings/clips are typically purchased separately to match your rod diameter.
To confirm hardware for a specific SKU, email support@thehues.com with the product link or your order number.
Will my rod diameter fit your grommets/loops?
Rod Pocket works best with rods ≤ 1.25" diameter. For Grommet, the internal diameter is about 1.56" and it pairs best with a 1.5" rod. Always confirm against the header option you select.
Which option is the most effective for noise reduction / thickest, and which is best for my space?
We offer multiple sound-reducing options (including 4-layer soundproof styles). Because results depend on gaps, mounting, and room conditions, there isn’t a single “best for everyone.” For the most effective setup, focus on a tight seal (minimize top/side gaps) and adequate fullness. If you share your room type and window measurements, we can recommend the best option—email support@thehues.com.
Do you have decibel reduction data or an STC rating/certification?
For our sound-reducing curtains, noise reduction can reach up to about 15 dB under ideal conditions.
Real-world results vary based on installation (especially top/side gaps), room construction, and the noise frequency.
If you need any available test information for a specific style (e.g., Hussein 4 Layers) or want a room-specific setup recommendation, email support@thehues.com with your measurements and photos.
Why is Rod Pocket/Back Tab recommended for noise cancelling?
Rod Pocket / Back Tab can create a tighter seal around the rod and reduce gaps, which helps improve blocking performance. See Soundproof Curtain Guide.
Is it 100% blackout? How effective is the thermal insulation?
Full blackout depends on the product and the lining you choose:
These 100% Blackout curtains can achieve full blackout when installed properly with minimal gaps.
For most other curtains (excluding sheer/light-filtering styles), selecting a 100% Blackout Liner can dramatically increase light blocking.
Thermal insulation also depends on fabric thickness and lining—thermal/blackout fabrics or added liners typically provide better insulation.
What’s the difference between Same Fabric Liner and Comparable Color Liner?
Same Fabric Liner: the lining is made from the same fabric as the front, for a more consistent look from both sides (except the header area).
Comparable Color Liner: the lining uses a polyester fabric in a close-matching color for coordinated appearance and value.
Can you make pinch pleats (e.g., double/triple pleats)?
Yes. The guides list multiple pleated options such as Double/Triple French Pinch Pleat, Euro Pleat, Goblet, and Inverted Box Pleat. Availability depends on the header styles offered on your product page. See Measurement Guide and Header Styles.
Can you make blackout/soundproof curtains with the same color on both sides?
Yes:
For the same fabric and color on both sides (except the header area), choose Same Fabric Liner.
For a close-matching polyester lining, choose Comparable Color Liner. An exact match across different fabrics may not always be possible—contact support to confirm before ordering.
Can I order swatches? How do I order them?
Yes. Order directly from Curtain Swatches: select your fabrics/colors and add them to cart.
Limits and shipping/fees follow the latest information shown on the swatch page.
Are tiebacks included or sold separately?
It varies by product—please follow the options shown on this curtain’s product page. Many curtain listings let you select tiebacks (for example Free Tiebacks / Matching Tiebacks), which will show in your order/price. If you want tiebacks separately, you can purchase them from Accessories.
